Abstract

Authoritarian leadership styles are often depicted in popular media, such as films, to illustrate complex workplace dynamics. This study aims to identify the characteristics and authoritarian leadership style represented by the character Bossman in the film "My Stupid Boss" (2016). The research employs a qualitative method with a content analysis approach through repeated viewing of scenes, dialogues, and interactions that represent leadership behaviors. The results indicate that Bossman exhibits characteristics of authoritarian leadership, such as unilateral decision-making, centralized control, distrust of employees, a need for praise, and inconsistent behavior. This leadership style fosters a toxic work environment, hinders productivity, and contradicts the principles of decent work outlined in SDG 8. The implications of this study emphasize the importance of collaborative and adaptive leadership in creating a healthy work environment that supports employee development.
