Abstract

Leadership is a crucial aspect that not only determines the direction of an organization but also 
influences the process of collaboration and transformation. This study aims to analyze the representation of 
collaborative and transformational leadership values in the Disney film Raya and The Last Dragon. The 
objectives are to identify how trust and brotherhood are portrayed as the foundation of leadership and to explain 
the transformative journey of the main character from individualistic to collaborative leadership. This research 
employs a qualitative descriptive method through observation of film scenes and literature review to interpret 
leadership values embedded in the narrative. Data are analyzed by reducing, categorizing, and interpreting 
dialogues and visual elements that reflect leadership practices.The results show that Raya’s leadership initially 
reflects distrust and individualism, however it gradually transforms into collaborative leadership that emphasizes 
trust, empathy, and inclusiveness. Trust appears as the key element to overcoming past betrayal, but without it, 
unity and peace in Kumandra could not be achieved. Brotherhood also plays a central role in uniting diverse 
groups, demonstrating that effective leadership requires emotional bonds and collective responsibility. 
Furthermore, the film highlights that leadership transformation is not free from challenges, yet it provides moral 
lessons about courage, sacrifice, and reconciliation.
