PENGARUH REWARD DAN PUNISHMENT TERHADAP KINERJA PEGAWAI DIREKTORAT JENDERAL KEMENTERIAN PERHUBUNGAN DARAT

This study examines the effect of reward and punishment systems on employee performance at the Secretariat and the Directorate of Road Transport Facilities within the Direktorat Jenderal Perhubungan Darat under the Kementerian Perhubungan Republik Indonesia. Using a quantitative survey approach, data were collected from 70 respondents selected through probability sampling out of a population of 230 employees. The analysis employed validity and reliability testing, descriptive statistics, and multiple linear regression (t-test, F-test, and R²) using IBM SPSS Statistics. The findings reveal that reward has a positive and significant partial effect on employee performance, while punishment does not show a significant partial effect. However, both variables simultaneously exert a significant influence. The results indicate that reward acts as the primary driver of performance improvement, whereas punishment functions mainly as a regulatory mechanism to maintain discipline.
